A House That Built Me?

Today was spent catching up on work. I am truly caught up now. I thought I would write before I caught up with my sweet boys. Jason took them to the park today to feed the ducks. I am sad I missed it. Now, I want you to play this song in the background as you read the rest of this post. Is there a single structure that you relied upon while growing up, to hold all of your memories. A place that you can go and immediately you are brought to a happy, care-free time in your life? A place filled with laughter and tears and broken hearts and pure joy!? I get to visit that place frequently. I love going home to a place that holds all of my memories. I love hearing songs or viewing pictures that remind of that time in my life, where the world turned so slow, time seemed to never matter, when I loved to climb to the roof and write songs. Now I am here to build those memories for my boys. What house built you? Is it the house or that special time in your life when love conquered all!

Cramping of muscles

I was sound asleep  thirty minutes ago. I awoke to crazy pain that I was confused about [it takes me awhile to awake usually]. After minutes of intense pain from my shin down to my ankle, I read up about muscle spasms. Doctors have suspected triggors and I may fall into most of the categories, but I hope it never happens again! At the end of one of the articles the quoted doctor said, "In essence, it's just a fact of life, it's just one of those things you have to learn to live with." Ummmm.... no thank you! I cannot imagine learning to live with this! AHHHH! What muscles cramps have you had?

I hope you didn't begin reading this thinking you may stumble upon a personal story about being courageous... I am actually reviewing a flick that is out in Redboxes everywhere entitled, Courageous. Honestly, Jason got this film as a last resort [I guess he wasn't the only straggler headed down to the corner store on V-Day]. The film is a Christian based film, the same makers of Facing the Giants and Fireproof. The film encompasses the day-to-day trials of four police officers and their role as a father. They ultimately make a huge decision that will change their lives. Throughout this movie, our little lovebug was not snuggled tight in his bed, instead, he was yelling for us throughout the entire movie. This made me jump at his every demand, out of a realization that I am grateful for my little boy, who will only be little for so long. The movie touched my heart as I pictured going through some of the trials these families faced. I was reassured by my testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I couldn't imagine going through this existence without such an organized gospel. I know it will continue to help me become a better person, a better mother, a better wife... Alright, go rent the movie. It was okay.... See for yourself!

What is Love?

"Is it the face of a child' Is it the thrill of danger; Is it the kindness we see in the eyes of a stranger; Is it more than faith; Is it more than hope; Is it waiting for us at the end of our rope?" According to Sugarland, it can be many things of varying nature. This time of year, particularly this day in America, we celebrate love, we think of love, we decorate things pretty in pink and talk about love, but do we truly exemplify love? Do we show our love? Are we "willing to bear one another’s burdens, that they may be light; [Mosiah 18:8-9] Are we "willing to mourn with those that mourn; yea, and comfort those that stand in need of comfort"?

I submit that we sometimes share our love with others, but often get caught up in ourselves. "Is it making you laugh; Is it making you cry; Is it where we believe that we go when we die; Is it how you were made?" [Sugarland.]

The loving prophet of old, even President George Albert Smith said, "you see, love...is not a mere word or a sensation within. To be a worthy love, it must be brough into action." What is love to you? How do you show it? I hope you see through my blog, those I LOVE the most and Most. What. Matters.
Happy Valentine's Day Readers!

Happy Valentine's Day Jason! I love spending every day with you. I wouldn't have it any other way.

A Matter of Talent

Talent was on my mind yesterday. Talent so great, that one would have to come to this earth with a good amount ready to use. How effortless it seems to those of us looking in from the outside. Well, you may be wondering what brought on this pondering of talent, I will confess... We attended the Andrea Bocelli concert last night. Do you want to talk about talent? As he sang so eloquently, with perfect posture, in more than one language, I thought about how much time and dedication this man has devoted to his talent. He has peaked and is near perfection in controlling his voice so beautifully. I know that we all have different talents and varying degrees within those categories, but I yearn to become someone who is looked upon as extremely talented in one area, someone whom has achieved such a feat of perfecting a talent. Then I thought, "What area would I choose?"

We all have areas to develop, strengths that can become stronger. Would it be something of this world, like singing or crafting, or would I like to perfect the talent it takes to be something more everlasting, like a loving mother. I have the materials I need to practice becoming the mother... So it is decided then. I will continue to develop my other talents, but in the grand scheme of things, I will work on becoming the most loving mother. Enjoy some clips from our night last night. It was truly amazing to witness one who has dedicated his life to mastering his talent.

We also had the privilege of hearing the ingeniously proficient Heather Headley. What an amazing, seemingly facile performance. Check out that link and listen to the end. She sang this song last night. Her voice echoed perfectly across the Amway Centers so easily into the ears of thousands of people. I was very much looking forward to hearing THIS SONG, but he must be saving it for the next time I see Andrea with Celine. It is one of my very favorites. Did I mention the orchestra? One of the best I have ever experienced. So, what talent are you working on?

PS Boyce Avenue just released another amazing song. Check it out!

Pinterest is so cool. In the past, I cut out cute things from magazines and made little journals with ideas of things for the home, and crafts and such... now the virtual world is upon us! Check out my boards  to see if you LOVE the same things as I LOVE. Speaking of LOVE, I better get back to the boys. Have a LOVEly day!

A Fun Spot

I have much to say, but no time to say it. I am accomplishing my goal of posting everyday for a week. Enjoy some photos from a few weeks back with the family. And a video of Oliver riding a ride against his better judgement. =) He must have skipped his nap. Well, at least we tried. I was working, so we didn't get many photos.

Sharing A Laugh

Today... is all about time. Time that I don't have. Well, I guess I have the same amount of time every day, but where I allocate that time is in question. I spent much of my morning keeping the kitchen tidy, playing with the boys I call lovebugs and spending that time connecting with them. I think I have accomplished a lot today.  I want to share a "laugh" from Oliver! We often enjoy watching America's Funniest Home Videos and apparently, so does Oliver. Still catching up from January, but am I doing a good job? We'll see...

A Visit From the Fam...

We were lucky enough to spend some down time with the family a few weeks ago, mid-January. They came to visit from VA and the boys loved to have them here. When they first arrived, Grandpa, Amelia and Jason took the boys to the park [pictured above]. Even as I edited these pictures, the boys would not stop talking about the event. I love preserving these memories here. I know it is an important part of life. They even got some new "baby" animals to go along with the ones they had. Oliver was quick to put them with their mommies and daddies. How can we forget...the ice-cream man! Somehow, the ice cream man rolls around the park every time the boys go there. Now when we ask, "Do you want to go to the park?" An almost simultaneous response comes after, "ICE CREAM!" More pictures and stories to come!

Complete Satisfaction

I guess what I want to share today is the spirit of accomplishment I felt as I left class today. I dread starting a new class. Every time it rolls around, I think, do I really love this? I guess it is my way of coping with the stress of an unknown social situation. Anyway, by the end of my class I like it! I love it! I want some more of it! I loved the last group of students. I love when my soul purpose makes it through, even to one student. I had the students share one take-away, one thing that has changed their way of thinking or perspective. I love hearing this.      [Disclaimer: By this point in the class, there is no sucking up that can be done (grades are pretty much finalized), there are 10 minutes left in the class at the end of a long work day and they have nothing to gain from praising anything that reflects myself.]     I always hear something I could work better on (show more video clips) and something they love. The thing that got me the most with this class is that I made them, "feel comfortable, a non-judgmental atmosphere." I didn't leave any one out and I was determined to get through the presentation of the material! I hope my reaction of complete satisfaction and victory wasn't as apparent as it felt because I hate strongly dislike giving away cues so others can "figure me out." Well, that is all ladies and gentlemen. That is all. Good night.

The Perfect Day

The park! This is one of our favorite parks. Many days we are the only ones in attendance. The boys are wild and free to run and laugh and play. There is some shade, some breeze and peace and quiet! Today it is overcast. The perfect day to wake up early to screaming babies, try to get them back to sleep, try to exercise and go back to bed for a nap! Yes, today was perfect for that. Going outside with the boys would be perfect too. I better go do that.
